Discover Dambulla

Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Gautama Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses.

Surrounded by most of Sri Lanka’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Dambulla not only offers easy access to the ancient kingdoms of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, but also is a short distance away from the legendary Sigiriya Rock Fortress, and home to the Dambulla Cave Temple – often considered one of the best preserved temple complexes in the country.
